Isn't
it more expensive to book a band through Red
Drum
Music instead of going
directly to the group?
One
of the many ways our service helps you is by saving you countless hours
searching for music for your event. Red Drum Music's agency fees to
the artists do NOT come out of your pocket. We take care of advertising,
marketing, and promotion for the artists we represent; in return, the
bands give Red Drum a discount that covers Red Drum's agency fees.

How
do I select a band?
As
soon as Red Drum Music receives the details for your event, we send
CDs and song lists from bands that fit your description of what you want.
We encourage you to listen to the CDs right away and let us know what
you like. The bands for whom you receive CDs are open when Red Drum
sends you the information; however, if you wait too long, your first
choice may no longer be available on the date of your event.

How
many breaks do bands take?
Bands usually
take two breaks during a four hour engagement. The first break occurs
when the entree is served or when the buffet or food stations are opened
to the guests. This break is 25-30 minutes long, the estimated time
it takes for guests to enjoy their meals. This is also when the band
is fed. The second break is a short 15-20 minute break between dance
sets.
|
|
Do
they play CDs or tapes on the breaks?
Most
bands bring and play CDs on the breaks. During the dinner break, the
band will quietly play CDs that are appropriate to the event so that
guests are able to enjoy conversations with others at their tables.
Dance music CDs will be played during the second break.

Will
I be able to pick the songs the band will play at my gathering?
The
fewer restrictions you put on a band, the more spontaneous the group
can be. Select 5-6 songs you definitely want to hear from your band's song list. Eliminate 5-6 songs you do not want to hear from your band's
song list. Any more than that limits them in "playing your party."

|
Will
bands learn special songs for special dances such as the bride and groom,
bride and father, or groom and mother dances?
Bands
prefer that you play a CD version of your special songs. This insures
you get the version you know and love, sung by the original artist.
It also allows you to practice your special dances before your event.
You are still welcome to ask if your band will learn a song for you.

How
do I select the order of events for my reception?
About
three months before your wedding, Red Drum sends you a "wedding
information" sheet. This asks if you will have introductions, blessings,
toasts, special dances, etc. As soon as we receive the information sheet
back from you, we contact your band and help you work out the order
of events you have chosen to include and whether or not you want the
band to make the announcements.
